EMMY nominated filmmaker, Karen Aptekar is a versatile innovative Director/Producer specializing in digital media. Aptekar delivers expertise through her KAPinform Campaign, which offers a radio/Twitter/Facebook ad effort. This multidimensional approach typifies her dynamic resourcefulness in bringing outstanding creative forces together.
Aptekar graduated from NYU film school and worked for the Wells Rich Greene Advertising Agency in New York, producing radio and TV commercials, as well as independently directing and producing documentary films. Her documentary, “Saving Evan White,” premiered at a South by Southwest Showcase, received four Telly awards, and a Bronze Remi from the 2009 Worldfest – Houston Independent International Film Festival. Director/Producer Aptekar was nominated for a 2009 EMMY in the category of Public/Current/Community Affairs.
Aptekar is part of the TEDxHouston leadership team and has been involved with TEDxHouston since it’s start in 2010, producing on air promos for PBS. Karen produced the multi camera live event , the day of TEDxHouston 2011, as well as produced and co-directed the 2011 TEDxHouston welocme video. Adept in both broadcast and web based arenas, Aptekar and her talented team create content worth seeing and hearing.
